'79 Gibson Les Paul Seymour Duncan Custom Pro P90 Pickup Swap & Grover Tuner Upgrade
There's something different about 70's and 80's Gibsons. I definitely enjoyed spending time with this Les Paul to swap out the original P90's for new Seymour Duncan Custom Pro's. The customer also requested upgrading the tuners to new Grover vintage tuners.
This was actually an uneventful mod because no major issues came up. The pickups went in easy and all the holes matched up perfectly for tuners. I definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about doing this at home.
Now that I'm thinking about it, the one issue I had was the original tuning peg bushings on the face of the headstock did not was to come out. I decided to leave them because I didn't want to risk chipping away at the finish.
