Sunland Guitars is dedicated to creating bold, original electric guitar shapes for musicians who want a look and sound that’s uniquely their own. Founder Erik Ulven, drawing from his Industrial Design background, brings fresh designs to life—whether inspired by his own vision or through collaboration with musicians.

Our mission is to craft the next Strat, Tele, or LP—guitars that stand the test of time. That’s why you won’t find many (if any) classic shapes in our lineup. We leave those to the original brands and focus our creative energy on designing the future of electric guitars.

Beyond aesthetics, we remove the obstacles that can hinder playability. From eliminating rigid corners in the neck pocket to adding rib and forearm relief, our guitars are designed for comfort and effortless performance.

When it comes to finishing, we let the wood grain take center stage. Instead of burying its natural beauty under thick layers of paint and clear coat, we use stains, dyes, oils, and a few light coats of nitrocellulose lacquer—just enough for protection while allowing the guitar to age gracefully. A thin finish means an instrument that naturally relics over time, carrying the marks of your journey as a player. Guitars are meant to be played, not kept in a case, and we celebrate the stories they tell through wear and tear.
